I Can't Stand the Horror Trope of Slashers that Can 'Teleport'

Credit to  Teleportation Vector Images | Depositphotos There is one horror trope that always bothers me when it comes to several horror movies.  How the hell can a slasher be in two places at once? What I mean by that is…why do horror directors sometimes ignore how a human can move? I’ve seen several horror movies that were really great, but were ruined by a killer who was able to teleport.  That doesn’t make any sense.  Unless time travel is involved, then go for it, but a human killer can’t teleport! Where does this sudden supernatural ability come from? It’s just so…stupid. So, like, does the mask or the outfit give the killer powers or what? This is a random side rant, but I felt the need to talk about this. I recently remembered a horror movie where the killer was able to be at two places at once, while he was going after two people.  Like he somehow was able to travel across the entire city in seconds to catch up to the other victim. How??? Not even science can explain this!!!

30 Days of Night Features the Best Vampires in Horror

30 Days of Night is the best vampire film ever made.

I believe this is just plain fact. The vampires in this movie are ruthless, scary, intelligent, and deadly.

They never shown an ounce of mercy, and they would have a habit of torturing their victims before drinking their blood.

It's amazing how well executed this film was.

30 Days of Night follows a small town located in middle of nowhere in the snow, and they become targets of a huge group of vampires looking for a feast.

The worst part is that the vampires are going to stay in the town for 30 days. The sun won't reveal itself for a full month, so the remaining survivors are stuck with these deadly creatures.

Before the small human group becomes the focus of the film, one of the best massacre horror sequences takes place before the main conflict of the movie. The town is completely overtaken by the vampires, picked off one by one. The gore and fear the viewer is exposed to is awesome, and I loved how the vampires attacked their victims like literal monsters.

The vampires acted like they haven't had a feast in a long time, and it was executed creepily by the vampire actors. The roar they give out after and before killing everyone is uncanny, it's obvious that these creatures are not human; and that they don't belong in our world.

Another story element that made this film great was when several of the main characters discover a disturbing event that had taken place before the vampires arrived in their town. They found a pile of destroyed phones, that appeared to have belonged to a huge group of people. This was one of the few signs that the vampires had murdered another town before finding them.

I loved the ambiguity of this scene, because it is the perfect build up to what the viewer will not see coming. We are now aware that something weird happened, but we don't have all the answers. We are left in the dark until the real threat shows up to the town. I love how there is no sign of what the film is going to be based on.

We have a small hint given to us through a creepy character that arrives to the town; sort of like a 'human compass' for the vampires to find their next feeding ground. He keeps on warning the group that something horrible is going to happen, but he never outright says what kind of threat it truly is.

It's a nice foreshadow, and their arrival makes the film so much more dreadful for me as a viewer. The town didn't stand a chance against something so evil; how few people were able to survive is insane.

30 Days of Night has the best vampires, and I have not seen any other vampire that could possibly beat these versions of the vampires. They aren't even attractive like other horror media has portrayed vampires. They are plain scary, and they don't bother to hide their true nature.

Now that is a true piece of vampire cinema!
