The Evil Dead Movie Series is the First Franchise to Introduce Me to Extreme Gore

Credit to  Evil Dead Theory:Evil Dead (1981) is set in it’s own universe : r/EvilDead I was in shock the first time I watched The Evil Dead . I had seen so many gory horror films before I had begun to watch The Evil Dead franchise. I couldn't believe how violent this series was, and I fell in love with how creative and insane the kills were.  I really came to love splatterpunk gore, it can be entertaining if given to the right director, and as long as the gore is used to progress the story, I'm totally fine with crazy deaths.  Cause let's face it, throwing in crazy gore without a decent story can become pretty boring very quickly.  Luckily, The Evil Dead is a damn great franchise that never fails to surprise me.  Heck, the TV show is one hell of a ride.  In one of the best scenes in this franchise, there is a part where Ash, the main character, and his companions decide to visit a diner, but they are attacked by demons.  Literally every single character who isn't o

A Terrifying New Take on Godzilla, The Man in the Suit Analog Horror

Analog horror finally has its next big contender in the horror genre.

A content creator on YouTube called Unknowingly has created an analog horror based on Godzilla. This analog horror is absolutely fantastic, it is like watching a 50s take on the creation of Frankenstein; an experiment that takes a turn for the worst.

It follows a fictional development of the very first Godzilla film that was released in 1954. A man in the suit of Godzilla films his scenes for the first time, who suddenly grows a creepy obsession with the suit, refusing to take it off. The production crew joke that they never see his face, but as time passes, they grow more concerned with the strange behavior of the man in the suit.

Then the crew witnesses a creepy moment, when the man stops acting during production. The crew try to gain his attention, but he doesn’t bother to address them. It is when they decide to remove the suit to look after the man, that they realize something much more sinister has occurred.

The man’s own skin has expanded to completely fill up the shape of the suit, his own body now becoming Godzilla himself. A downward spiral of chaos and death ensues, as the production crew is stuck in the clutches of a monster among them. This plot may sound a little silly, but it a very effective and haunting story of a man who becomes a beast.

Watching the man in the suit slowly lose his human self as the development of the Godzilla films progresses is a very scary sequence. What was once a fun experience for the cast and crew is now a terrifying reality.

The man goes from a scared victim of the Godzilla suit, to destroying so many lives around him; murdering and traumatizing bystanders as he slowly loses his sanity to the suit. What really adds to the terror of this analog horror is the pictures that the photographers take during the shooting of the Godzilla films.

Each photo reveals a different angle to the man in the suit, each one sending shivers down my spine. This man has fully embraced his monstrous side. Whatever person used to be there…is gone now.

The story is amazing, by far one of the best to ever grace the analog horror genre. This analog horror does follow the beast, but it also focuses on a camera man with no name, who is determined to take down the monster that has ruined the lives of the production crew.

Due to greed, the studio refuses to be rid of the man in the suit and forces the crew to be sucked into the horrific world of this beast. The camera man works together with a secret spy, who both begin to gather evidence of the creature. There are many moments that they witness their crew get massacred in the most brutal ways, as the duo themselves attempts to survive each time they film.

This plot device in the story sounds so unrealistic, but it can be quite believable. Anyone is willing to do anything to put money in their pockets, even if many lives are lost.

Just picturing someone that became one of my favorite fictional creatures is a such a scary concept. Knowing that you are now living in skin that is not your own is a fate I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. Perhaps the worst part, is hoping that this thing doesn’t make you its next target. The thought of getting torn apart by a monster in front of people that can’t save you is pure nightmare fuel. It knows the power it has over you. It knows that if it sees you in the dark, it will hunt you.

It will not stop until you are dead.

That is the fear that this analog horror inspires.
