The Evil Dead Movie Series is the First Franchise to Introduce Me to Extreme Gore

Credit to  Evil Dead Theory:Evil Dead (1981) is set in it’s own universe : r/EvilDead I was in shock the first time I watched The Evil Dead . I had seen so many gory horror films before I had begun to watch The Evil Dead franchise. I couldn't believe how violent this series was, and I fell in love with how creative and insane the kills were.  I really came to love splatterpunk gore, it can be entertaining if given to the right director, and as long as the gore is used to progress the story, I'm totally fine with crazy deaths.  Cause let's face it, throwing in crazy gore without a decent story can become pretty boring very quickly.  Luckily, The Evil Dead is a damn great franchise that never fails to surprise me.  Heck, the TV show is one hell of a ride.  In one of the best scenes in this franchise, there is a part where Ash, the main character, and his companions decide to visit a diner, but they are attacked by demons.  Literally every single character who isn't o

American McGee's Alice is One of the Best Adaptations of Alice in Wonderland

American McGee's Alice has remained an icon for horror fans for years. This gritty version of Alice in Wonderland is extremely dark, disturbing, and full of great horror moments. What makes this version of Alice stand out among the other adaptations of Alice in Wonderland, is that the game confirms that Wonderland is all in Alice's head.

Due to the deaths of her entire family from a house fire, Alice loses her mind. She creates a Wonderland for herself, as a way to escape from her reality in the asylum. Unfortunately, her Wonderland doesn't exactly pan out to be a wonderful world like the original Wonderland fans are familiar with.

American McGee's Wonderland is a sort of mirror image of the current darkness Alice is experiencing in real life. The lovable characters are straight up killers themselves, determined to take down Alice's psyche and corrupt her mind forever. Alice defeats all of her Wonderland friends, in order to ensure she will recover successfully from the deaths of her family.

In the first game, it ends on a sort of happy note, confirming that Alice is going to be alright.

Then we fans get a reality check when the second game reveals that Alice never healed the way we expected and hoped she would. Alice is continuing to visit her doctor, but she is now able to roam freely, all on her own. As Alice is attempting to live her new life, she is thrown back into Wonderland, to confront the truth of what really happened to her family.

This time around, the Wonderland characters are willing to help her, but they continue to be jerks to her, not forgetting that she once killed them all to ensure she would have a fresh start in life.

In my opinion, the second game is the absolute best. The story ending and the reveal of what really happened to her parents is tragic and disturbing. Alice is able to kill the bastard that destroyed her life, and she is able to move forward with her life...by continuing to live in her Wonderland, forever.

It's a powerful way to end a great game, and I loved every second of it.

It's such a huge shame we will never get the third game that American McGee was hoping would be eventually made. The third game was supposed to be the prequel to the first game, showing what Alice went through when she was a kid after the death of her family.

Hopefully another game company will take notice of the game, and find a way to develop the third Alice game fans were eagerly hoping for.

American McGee's Alice is an underrated horror masterpiece, one that deserves so much love from all horror fans!
