The Evil Dead Movie Series is the First Franchise to Introduce Me to Extreme Gore

Credit to  Evil Dead Theory:Evil Dead (1981) is set in it’s own universe : r/EvilDead I was in shock the first time I watched The Evil Dead . I had seen so many gory horror films before I had begun to watch The Evil Dead franchise. I couldn't believe how violent this series was, and I fell in love with how creative and insane the kills were.  I really came to love splatterpunk gore, it can be entertaining if given to the right director, and as long as the gore is used to progress the story, I'm totally fine with crazy deaths.  Cause let's face it, throwing in crazy gore without a decent story can become pretty boring very quickly.  Luckily, The Evil Dead is a damn great franchise that never fails to surprise me.  Heck, the TV show is one hell of a ride.  In one of the best scenes in this franchise, there is a part where Ash, the main character, and his companions decide to visit a diner, but they are attacked by demons.  Literally every single character who isn't o

Hollywood Won’t Leave Horror Remakes Alone!

Why does Hollywood continue to mess with iconic horror films? Some of these cult classics don’t need to be touched. Yet, Hollywood can’t help themselves, I guess.

I recently heard there is another remake of another horror film that I never thought in a million years would get a remake.

The Possession, that was released in 1981. The story follows a crazed couple that slowly loses their minds throughout the film, as they battle their inner demons through disturbing ways.

This film doesn't need a remake! It was already so perfect, why is Hollywood going after the film?

I’m not even looking forward to this remake, considering the fact that Robert Pattinson (The Lighthouse) and the director of Smile is going to direct the film! At least they got a good team…but it doesn’t need to be done.

Other remakes that were announced or have been done have disappointed me so far:

  • The Blair Witch Project
  • The Crow (This film has already received bad reviews. Not a good sign).

Hollywood….there is one thing I must ask of you.

Stop. Remaking. Iconic. Cult. Classic. Horror. Movies.

THEY DON’T NEED A REMAKE!
