The Substance is a Body Horror Triumph with Incredible Practical Effects

The Substance follows the story of a woman named Elisabeth Sparkle, who is now turning 50 years old. She appears to be living her best life. She is a fitness instructor for a TV show, she is beautiful and rich. Then her boss decides to kick her out of the studio, for a younger woman that will take the place of Elisabeth. Obviously distraught and angry, she begins to experience a moment of midlife crisis.  She ends up getting into a car accident during her dilemma, and she is taken to the hospital. Even though she learns that she did not sustain any form of injury, she has a breakdown after everything that she endured.  Then a random nurse gives her something known as The Substance , and writes a note that simply says: “It changed my life.” After Elisabeth learns about this strange product, she decides to use The Substance …and is given a better version of herself.  Elisabeth w

Lollipop Chainsaw is Finally Getting a Remaster

I'm happy to announce that Lollipop Chainsaw is getting the remaster treatment, and will be released on September 25th, 2024! 

Lollipop Chainsaw was created by a great writing crew, along with a fantastic voice actor cast! The story is excellent and imaginative as hell, featuring a wonderful and hilarious teenage girl take on five boss zombies from a zombie planet that plan to invade her world. 

Lollipop Chainsaw really does hold a special place in my heart. I love how self-aware the game is portrayed; it's aware how over the top the story is; but that's what makes it awesome. It's not afraid to be bonkers, and I love the development team for creating such a great masterpiece!

The only flaw I had for the game was the gameplay itself. I felt that the game was overly difficult, and due to the gameplay, I kept screwing up on a lot of fights. I'm not sure how remasters work, but I lowkey hope the gameplay was upgraded. The story was truly what kept me going with playing the game, so kudos to the team for helping me get through the tough gameplay!

There was also an announcement that Lollipop Chainsaw was going to receive a remake, but it was changed to a remaster instead. I'm not sure if a remake will ever be released in the future, but if there is; I will be really looking forward to it! I can't imagine how awesome the zombie bosses are going to look like in the remake, there is so much potential; and I can't wait!

Regardless, I'm excited for the remaster edition of this classic horror game. 

I adore zombies, and this is one of the few stories that wasn't afraid to do something new with the zombie genre!
