I Can't Stand the Horror Trope of Slashers that Can 'Teleport'

Credit to  Teleportation Vector Images | Depositphotos There is one horror trope that always bothers me when it comes to several horror movies.  How the hell can a slasher be in two places at once? What I mean by that is…why do horror directors sometimes ignore how a human can move? I’ve seen several horror movies that were really great, but were ruined by a killer who was able to teleport.  That doesn’t make any sense.  Unless time travel is involved, then go for it, but a human killer can’t teleport! Where does this sudden supernatural ability come from? It’s just so…stupid. So, like, does the mask or the outfit give the killer powers or what? This is a random side rant, but I felt the need to talk about this. I recently remembered a horror movie where the killer was able to be at two places at once, while he was going after two people.  Like he somehow was able to travel across the entire city in seconds to catch up to the other victim. How??? Not even science can explain this!!!

Star Wars: Return of the Jedi Has One Disturbing Death Scene in the Beginning of the Film

Warning: Will contain spoilers for the special edition of Return of the Jedi

The original Star Wars trilogy will always remain one of the best action/Sci — Fi series for many fans. The great storyline of heroes attempting to take down an evil tyrant in space will always hold a special place in my heart.

I have binged this trilogy multiple times when I was a child, loving the characters and their developments as the story progressed.

It took me years later, to realize I had unintentionally watched the special edition to the trilogy.

Apparently, George Lucas decided to add extra scenes to his films later on!

One of the main scenes that was added to his third film was a random musical dance number involving several aliens singing together, entertaining Jabba the Hut.

How did I find out I was accidentally watching the special edition?

It was all due to watching the original version to the third film, Return of the Jedi, with a family member at their house.

I was watching the beginning sequence when the characters stumble upon Jabba the Hut’s palace to rescue Han Solo.

Before they arrive however, I was confused to find one particular death scene missing from the film.

I thought perhaps it had been skipped over, due to how disturbing it was.

I had immediately searched this scene afterwards, and I realized I had been watching the special edition version of the original Star Wars trilogy the whole time since I was a kid!

I couldn’t believe my discovery, and I was honestly a little upset that I had witnessed such a horrible death when I was just a child.

What death scene am I referring to?

A woman named Oola, a slave that Jabba the Hut had killed for daring to attempt to escape from Jabba the Hut during the musical scene in the Special Edition.

During the musical dance number that I have gained a massive respect for, because of how awesome each of the character designs are, a woman named Oola is dancing for Jabba the Hut during this fun sequence.

At some point during the entertainment, Oola attempts to escape from Jabba, pulling at her chain. Jabba becomes enraged, and sends her to the pit of the iconic beast that many Star War fans came to love: The Rancor.

While the gate is opening to let the Rancor loose to feast on Oola, she lets out a scream and is killed offscreen as Jabba and his minions laugh at her demise.

This part really got to me when I was a kid. I couldn’t get over how she died, and I hated that we never saw what happened to her.

Ambiguous death scenes have always bothered me, and it was even worse to see the Rancor eat several of Jabba’s guards as he goes after Luke Skywalker after he arrives to Jabba’s palace.

Oola didn’t stand a chance against the Rancor, and it’s a shame that Luke didn’t show up sooner. Perhaps she could have been saved, but in the Star Wars universe, it’s kind of tough to avoid death.

Thank you for reading!
