The Evil Dead Movie Series is the First Franchise to Introduce Me to Extreme Gore

Credit to  Evil Dead Theory:Evil Dead (1981) is set in it’s own universe : r/EvilDead I was in shock the first time I watched The Evil Dead . I had seen so many gory horror films before I had begun to watch The Evil Dead franchise. I couldn't believe how violent this series was, and I fell in love with how creative and insane the kills were.  I really came to love splatterpunk gore, it can be entertaining if given to the right director, and as long as the gore is used to progress the story, I'm totally fine with crazy deaths.  Cause let's face it, throwing in crazy gore without a decent story can become pretty boring very quickly.  Luckily, The Evil Dead is a damn great franchise that never fails to surprise me.  Heck, the TV show is one hell of a ride.  In one of the best scenes in this franchise, there is a part where Ash, the main character, and his companions decide to visit a diner, but they are attacked by demons.  Literally every single character who isn't o

Is Labyrinth Secretly a Horror Movie?

I have watched this film multiple times throughout the years. I think this film is one of the best fantasy films ever created. The practical effects are freaking amazing, this film deserves a standing ovation for how insane it really was. Everything in this film was literally built, and it's insane that they put so much effort, considering just how fast-paced this film really is.

The story follows a girl named Sarah, who realizes that her baby brother has been kidnapped by the Goblin King, and his fellow goblin army. Sarah embarks on a journey to save her brother, teams up with new friends, and together, they find a way to travel deeper into the labyrinth.

After watching this movie so many times, I have finally noticed something that I can't believe I never noticed before. I didn't realize how many dark tones were hiding within this movie.

There are so many dark moments that really caught me off guard.

Like that creepy scene when Sarah falls through a trap door, and an entire wall of hands are guiding her below, and they literally form faces together to speak to her.

It's genius.

Then there is another scene where Sarah encounters a group of crazy bastards that attempt to remove her head. Like what the hell? Is this movie really for kids?

There are so many nightmare fuel moments in this one, and it's another reason why I love this film so much. And let's not forget the iconic David Bowie, who played the villain perfectly!

R.I.P. David. You will always be remembered as the Goblin King. And your vocals were fire in this movie!
