The Evil Dead Movie Series is the First Franchise to Introduce Me to Extreme Gore

Credit to  Evil Dead Theory:Evil Dead (1981) is set in it’s own universe : r/EvilDead I was in shock the first time I watched The Evil Dead . I had seen so many gory horror films before I had begun to watch The Evil Dead franchise. I couldn't believe how violent this series was, and I fell in love with how creative and insane the kills were.  I really came to love splatterpunk gore, it can be entertaining if given to the right director, and as long as the gore is used to progress the story, I'm totally fine with crazy deaths.  Cause let's face it, throwing in crazy gore without a decent story can become pretty boring very quickly.  Luckily, The Evil Dead is a damn great franchise that never fails to surprise me.  Heck, the TV show is one hell of a ride.  In one of the best scenes in this franchise, there is a part where Ash, the main character, and his companions decide to visit a diner, but they are attacked by demons.  Literally every single character who isn't o

Mike Flanagan has always been considered as a master of horror. This director is a genius, providing his audience with amazing storylines and characters with elements of horror that can scare us or make us cry.

The Fall of the House of Usher is another excellent TV series created by Flanagan. The story follows the Usher family, who is finally meeting their downfall after taking advantage of others through the medical industry for so many years.

The entire family is absolutely vile and spoiled, using their greed and power to do whatever they want, even if that means other people will pay the price. The Usher family meets their maker when Roderick Usher and his sister realize that the one person who provided their future for them is now here to collect the souls of the entire Usher family.

And let me tell you, watching everyone get killed is so satisfying. Each death is like a kick in the balls, none of them are given a mercy death whatsoever. What's crazy is that the supernatural entity even offers to spare them from such a horrible fate, but because of their greed, they refuse to back down.

Their deaths are so brutal and violent, and could have been easily prevented from escalating even further. Alas, sometimes the greed within people truly is what keeps them going, and they no longer understand what is truly at stake.

The Fall of the House of Usher is a fantastic show, that has become one of my favorites in horror. Mike Flanagan has created so many masterpieces, but wow, is it hard to pick a favorite. I think mine would have to be Midnight Mass. I'll probably talk about this one in the near future.
